Homers Carry Lady Rebels to Sweep at Glasgow

The Todd County Central Lady Rebels put an end to a four-game losing streak Saturday by going on the road and sweeping a doubleheader from the Glasgow Lady Scotties. The Lady Rebels took the opening game 8-3 and then completed the sweep with a 4-2 win.

In the opener, the Lady Rebels scored six runs over the first two innings to take an early 6-0 lead and cruised on out from there. Todd Central pounded out ten hits over the course of the five-inning game.

Sam Case had a two-run homer and Haylee Vass an RBI single to get things started in the first inning. Case would hit another two-run homer while Abby Williams added an RBI single in the second.

Case would drive in another run with a single in the fourth, while Vass added an RBI single in the 5th.

Case finished the game 3-3 with two home runs, 5 RBIs, and two runs scored. Vass was 2-3 with a pair of RBIs.

Abby McPherson went all five innings in the circle, giving up three runs, none of them earned, on three hits, striking out five, while walking three.

The second game of the doubleheader saw Todd Central score two runs in the top of the 7th to break a 2-2 tie and take the 4-2 win. Abby Williams two-run shot turned out to be the game winner for the Lady Rebels.

Williams ended up 3-4, with the game-winning home run, two RBI’s, and two runs scored. Sam Case was 2-4 with a pair of doubles and an RBI.

Todd Central improves to 8-9 on the year. The Lady Rebels are set to host Butler County Monday evening.
