Brescia University continues to tap into the western Kentucky pool of golfers to stock its roster. On Tuesday, the Bearcats officially added Webster County junior Grant Puckett to their stable of golfers.
The Webster County senior won the 2020 region title and finished 16th at the state tournament.
In addition to earning All-Region honors and being named a Bluegrass Tour All-Star last season, Puckett was the Region 2 Player of the Year.
Puckett has been a member of the Webster County golf team since the seventh grade, sometimes being the only player on the team.
His game has often been compared to another Webster County golfing great who also attended Brescia, Cy McCully.
Puckett held a signing ceremony Tuesday at his home in Clay that was attended by several golfers he has played with and against during his career as well as some future teammates at Brescia.
The Bearcats already feature four golfers from Region 2 schools on its 2020-21 roster.
