The Caldwell County Tigers won for the second straight day, rallying to defeat Union County 4-3 in Princeton.

Caldwell trailed 3-1 before scoring three times in the bottom of the fifth inning to take the lead. A Union error was instrumental in the frame, allowing two runs to score to push the Tigers in front.

Deontaye Walls went the distance on the mound for the Tigers. He gave up nine base hits and four walks, but allowed only two earned runs while striking out four.

Logan Smiley went 2-for-4 at the plate and scored twice as Caldwell avenged an 11-10 loss at Union County last month.

Ben Hargrove was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and an RBI for the Braves, who outhit the Tigers 9-7 in the contest.

Union grabbed an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first.

Caldwell cut the gap to 2-1 in the third before Union regained its two-run edge at 3-1 in the top of the fifth inning.

Caldwell is now 10-11. The Braves are 15-14.

Union could have tied the all-time series with a win on Tuesday. However, the Tigers now have a 26-24 advantage against the Braves.

Caldwell, which routed Hopkins County Central 12-2 in six innings on Monday, plays at home again on Thursday against Livingston Central.
