Trigg County has scored double-digit runs in every other game over its last six games. The streak continued Thursday as the Wildcats needed only two innings of at-bats to plate 17 runs in a 17-0 district win over Livingston Central.

The 17 runs are the most against the Cardinals in over two decades and are the most scored in a district win since a 21-1 win over Lyon County in 2013.

Trigg County reached base via nine hits, five walks, five hit batters, and two Cardinal errors.

The Wildcats sent 10 batters to the plate in the first inning and scored six times.  Joe Peca had an RBI single, and Hunter Reynolds added a two-run double.  Trey Carr drove in two more with a single to right.

Trigg sent 16 batters to the plate in the second inning and scored 11 runs, with Tyler Ahart smacking a leadoff home run to left.  Andrew Williamson and Joe Peca added two-run doubles, and Kaiden McCormick, and Greyson Grissom had RBI singles.

Williamson and Joe Peca each had two hits, with those two and McCormick, Grissom, Reynolds, Carr, and Bryce Cunningham driving in multiple runs.

Isaac Peca batted three times and was hit by a pitch all three times.

Cunningham needed only 46 pitches in three innings to get the win.  He yielded only one hit – a single to Luke Vinson. He struck out two and walked one.

Livingston Central [2-8] dropped to 0-1 in district play.

Trigg County [5-5] evened its district mark at 1-1. After a Friday road game at Caldwell County, the Wildcats will host Lyon County Monday with a chance at bettering its position in the district standings.
