Caldwell Track Teams Roll in Tri-Meet at Hopkins Central

Caldwell County’s track teams outpaced the competition in a three-team meet on Thursday at Hopkins County Central.

Caldwell’s girls totaled 75 points to outdistance the host school (34 points) and Madisonville-North Hopkins (32).

For the guys, Caldwell had 74 points while Hopkins Central recorded 52 and Madisonville 48.

Top performers for the Lady Tigers included Tamia Walker, who was first in the 100-meter dash and first in the long jump.

Ava Pickett won the high jump competition and the 400-meter dash.

Jordan Ortt was first in the 800-meter run.

Kaylee Brown was second in the discus and second in the shot put.

Mariah Merritt was second in the 200-meter dash.

Emma Ward placed third in the discus and was third in the shot put.

Addyson Schott finished third in the 1,600-meter run.

Christina Thatcher was third in the 100-meter dash.

Amaya Merritt was third in the 400-meter dash.

Benashka Thomas took third in the 200-meter dash.

T.J. Goodwin finished third in the long jump and third in the 800-meter run.

Caldwell also won the girls’ 4×100 relay, the 4×200 relay and the 4×400 relay.

For Caldwell’s guys, Ethan Weatherspoon was first in the 100-meter dash.

Baron Wells took the 200-meter dash competition.

Elijah Shaheen was first in the high jump and also took third in the 100-meter dash and was fourth in the 200-meter dash.

Isaiah Joyner finished second in the 110-meter hurdles, third in the long jump and fourth in the 400-meter dash.

Giovante Riley was second in the long jump.

Ethan Ward placed second in the discus.

Canyon Richardson took second in the 400-meter dash.

Jordan Ladd was third in the discus.

Jeremiah Taylor placed third in the high jump.

Caldwell also took the boys’ 4×100 relay, the 4×200 relay and gthe 4×400 relay events.

The Caldwell track teams will compete in a quad-meet at Crittenden County on Tuesday.
