Russellville put more crooked numbers on the scoreboard than Trigg County Monday and the result was a 13-3 Lady Panther win in Cadiz.

Russellville only scored in four innings, but twice put a four-spot on the board after a three-run first inning.

Reese Croslin drove in the game’s first run with a single, and Addie Mosier followed with a deep two-run single for a 3-0 Lady Panther lead.

Russellville added four more runs in the fourth inning, highlighted by a two-run homer by Brescia signee Chloe Whitescarver.

Trigg County got on the board in the home half of the fourth when Makenna Hendricks singled and scored ahead of an Ashlyn Brown double to left. Brown would then come around on a Chandler Wilson pinch-hit single.

Russellville got two back in the sixth on a wild pitch and RBI double by Madison Penrod.

Trigg scored its final run in the sixth when Phelan Dossett led off with a double and came around to score on an Emma West ground out.

Russellville closed out the scoring with a four-run seventh inning highlighted by a two-run single by Amayah Collier, who finished 3-for-5 with two RBIs and three runs scored.  Croslin also had three hits, and Russellville also got multi-hit games from Jaylah Kees and Madison Penrod as part of a 15-hit night.

Seven different Lady Wildcats got hits for Trigg with doubles by Brown, West, Dossett, and Ashlynn Koch comprising four of the hits.

Both teams only struck out three times in the game.

Madison Penrod gave up six hits and three earned runs in 6.1 innings to get the win.

Emma West struck out two and walked only three in six innings to get saddled with the pitching loss for Trigg.  Two of the runs she allowed were unearned as the Lady Wildcats made six errors in the field.

Russellville improved to 7-1 and will travel to 13th District foe Franklin-Simpson Tuesday.

Trigg County’s record is even at 1-1, and the Lady Wildcats will play at Dawson Springs Tuesday.
