WK Velo 13U completed an undefeated week by sweeping a pair of games Sunday afternoon. The team opened the day with a 9-3 win over Jackson Thunder, and then picked up a 13-0 win over Throwbacks 13U.
In the opener Sunday, WK Velo scored all the runs they would need with four runs in the bottom of the first inning. They closed out the win with a pair of runs in the 4th and in the 5th.
Parker Pendley ended up 2-4, with a triple and 3 RBIs. Austin Spears went 2-3, and drove in a pair of runs. Aiden Lewis ended the game 1-2 with two RBIs.
Parker Pendley went the distance on the mound, giving up three runs on three hits, striking out four, while walking three.
The second game of the day Sunday saw WK Velo 13U score five runs over the first two innings and then close out the win with 8 runs in the bottom of the 4th.
Austin Spears had a huge game, going 2-3, with a home run, a double, 4 RBIs, and a run scored. Devin Schutt ended up 3-4, with a double, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Cole Glover went 1-2, with two RBIs, and two runs scored.
Carter Sholar and Austin Spears combined to pitch a four inning one-hitter.
In their four games Friday and Sunday, WK Velo 13U outscored their opponents 58-3.
