WK Velo 13U had a good start to their weekend on the baseball diamond. The team picked up a pair of shutout wins Friday.
In the first game of the evening at the West Tennessee Sportsplex, in Jackson, WK Velo 13U scored in every at bat as they picked up a 14-0 four inning win over Land Sharks 13U. Jace Blue was 2-4 with two runs scored. Austin Spears finished 2-3, with four RBI’s and two runs scored. Turner Hurst was 0-3, but had two RBIs and scored two runs. Cole Glover was 1-3, with a couple of runs scored. And, Carter Sholar ended up 1-2, with an RBI and two runs scored.
On the mound, Austin Spears and Aiden Lewis combined to throw a four inning no-hitter. Spears struck out five, while Lewis added one more K to the team total.
The second game of the night Friday saw WK Velo 13U score 22 runs in the opening inning as they took a 22-0 win over Dulins Dodgers 13U.
Austin Spears and Parker Pendley each had two hits and three RBIs in the game. Carter Sholar and Isiah Stotts each contributed three hits and two RBIs to the big win.
Carter Sholar and Gage Montes combined to pitch a three inning no-hitter. Each had four strikeouts in their limited time on the mound.
