Alley Folz now has a greater appreciation when she sees a basketball player return from an injury. The Heritage Christian Academy junior saw her life turn upside down last July when she was a passenger in a car being driven by her friend. On their way to get breakfast, the car ran off Lafayette Road and crashed, breaking Alley’s arm on impact.
Not only was Alley unsure about cheerleading again, she didn’t know if she would have full use of her right arm. After surgery to insert a plate and screws and through hard work and rehab, Alley was able to rejoin the cheerleading squad and take part in HCA’s trip to the KCAA State Basketball Tournaments earlier this month.
Alley is the daughter of Danny and Jackey Folz and recently received the Hustle Award at the HCA Basketball Banquet for her work in getting back on the floor to cheer.
