Hoptown Celebrates Good Friday with Meet Win

Buoyed by six first place finishes, the Hopkinsville boys’ track and field team won the Good Friday Meet at the Stadium of Champions.

Hoptown scored 71 points to edge second-place UHA who totaled 69 points. Christian County was third with 51 points.

HOPTOWN RESULTS

Chase Atkins – 1st in the 800-meters [2:01.51]; 1st in the 1600-meters [4:24.86]

Zahnte Brown – 1st in the 110-meter hurdles [16.91]; 2nd in the 300-meter hurdles [46.02]

Kemaure Mumford – 1st in the discus throw [127-02.50]

Dylan Skinner – 1st in the high jump [5-00]; 4th in the 110-meter hurdles [30.53]

Chance Jones – 2nd in the 400-meter dash [55.28]; 2nd in the 800-meters [2:12.28]

Ross Binkley – 2nd in the long jump [17-04]; 4th in the 400-meters [58.86]

Quinn Miller – 2nd in the 3200-meter run [12:27.57]; 2nd in the 1600-meter run [5:10.91]; 5th in the 800-meters [2:26]

Tahj Jones – 3rd in the 100-meter dash [12.87]

Alden Marshall – 5th in the shot put [22-02]; 6th in the discus throw [43-11]

Brandon Combs – 7th in the 100-meter dash [13.15]; 9th in the 200-meter dash [26.83]

Torrance Ware – 10th in the 200-meter dash [27.11]

 

The 1600-meter relay team of Zahnte Brown, Ross Binkley, Chance Jones, Chase Atkins won in a time of 3:43.19.

The 400-meter relay team of Torrance Ware, Tahj Jones, Steven Staples, and Zahnte Brown finished second in 49.18.
