Former Caldwell County standout Derrin Boyd and his Georgetown Tigers avenged a loss earlier this season by beating the University of the Cumberlands 83-76 Thursday night in Georgetown.
Boyd had 15 points, seven rebounds and two assists in the contest.
The game was tied 65-65 with just over 5 minutes remaining, but Georgetown used a 13-2 run to take control.
The Tigers are now 11-3.
Georgetown is back in action Saturday afternoon hosting University of Pikeville.
