Campbellsville junior guard Taiveyhon Mason has been named the Mid-South Conference and NCCAA basketball player of the week.  It’s the second time Mason has earned the weekly honor.

The former Christian County Colonel averaged 23 points and 4.5 rebounds per game while shooting 50 percent from the field in two games last week.  He scored 11 points and grabbed four rebounds with three assists in the Tigers’ loss to No. 18 Thomas More.

On Saturday, Mason scored a career-high 35 points on 13-of-23 shooting, including 5-of-8 from beyond the arc, in Campbellsville’s 94-92 upset victory over No. 1 Georgetown.  He hit the final two free throws that sealed the victory for Campbellsville with 2.4 seconds left.

For the season, Mason is averaging 13.7 points and three assists a game for Campbellsville, who will be the No. 5 seed in their conference postseason tournament.
