In three of the four quarters on Tuesday night in Elkton, visiting Muhlenberg County and Todd County Central almost played to a standstill, but a big second quarter gave the Mustangs a double-digit cushion they would hold for the remainder of a 69-46 victory over the Rebels.  After a loss last time out at Hopkinsville, Muhlenberg wins its ninth in ten tries, while Todd County drops its second straight.

With the Rebels trailing by a point, Dominique Morrow scored 4 of his 6 first-quarter points on consecutive possessions for a 10-7 Todd County lead with 3:45 left in the first.  However, Davian Summers closed the quarter with a layup to give the Mustangs a 14-13 advantage.

Muhlenberg opened the second on a 13-4 run, capped by a 3-point play by Cole Vincent, to take its first double-digit lead.  Preston Moore scored in the lane for the Rebels to stop the spurt, but the Mustangs closed the half on a 14-5 surge to lead 44-24 at halftime.

The Rebels trimmed the margin to 16 on three occasions in the third quarter, but couldn’t get any closer, with Muhlenberg’s Noah Phillips knocking down two 3-pointers and scoring 8 points in the frame.

Austin Rager and Moore combined for 10 points over the final eight minutes, with Moore pulling the Rebels to within 17 with two free throws with 5:15 left, but that would be as close as they would get.
