Purples Turn Back Colonel Rallies in 66-51 Win

Bowling Green consistently had the answer for Christian County rallies throughout the game as they rolled to a 66-51 win over the Colonels Saturday in the South Warren Shootout.

The Purples jumped out to a 19-8 first quarter lead only to see the Colonels battle back to within 27-20.  The Purples ended the half on a 7-0 run to take a 34-20 lead into intermission.

Christian County again grabbed some momentum midway through the third quarter but another 7-0 Bowling Green run gave the Purples a 50-32 lead after three.

The Purples extended their lead to as many as 25 points in the fourth quarter.  Christian County ended the game with an 11-1 run for the final margin.

Olajuwon White led the Colonels with 14 points, and Stephon Bussell added nine points before fouling out in the third quarter.

Isaiah Mason led Bowling Green (4-3) with 27 points.

Christian County (3-5) returns to action Friday in the Ashland Invitational Tournament against Butler (5-3).
