Balanced Attack Leads Trigg County Past Russellville 16-4

Trigg County got back on the winning track by scoring in every inning of a 16-4 win at Russellville Thursday.

The Wildcats rapped out 13 hits and took advantage of seven Panther errors in the contest to win their tenth straight game against Russellville.

Trigg started fast with three runs in the first inning on an RBI single by Hayden Cunningham, who later scored on a wild pitch. Jacob Kent plated a run with a double, and Caleb Federspiel had an RBI groundout.

Five more runs came across the plate for Trigg County in the second inning. Trevor Cortner had an RBI double ahead of a three-run triple by Jude Hunter. Andrew Williamson then circled the bases on an inside-the-park home run to center field.

Ten different players had hits for Trigg County. Kent, Trey Carr, and Connor Wallace each had two hits for Trigg County with nine players recording an RBI.

Bryce Cunningham picked up the pitching win for Trigg County. He went three innings, allowing three hits and no earned runs while striking out three.

Khristian McCall had two hits and two RBIs for Russellville (2-15), who dropped their eighth straight game.

Trigg County (13-12) is off until Tuesday when they host Paducah Tilghman.
