Tiger Track Excels in Relays at Toyota of Hopkinsville Invitational

The Hopkinsville track and field team boasted a dominant performance in the boys’ relays at the Toyota of Hopkinsville Invitational on Saturday, while Yogianah McKnight posted a couple of top finishes in the sand to help the girls to a fifth-place showing.

Keane Mumford finished first in the discus with a distance of 125-11, followed by Joshua Deeds in fourth.  Mumford was second in the shot put at 46-07.00, while Deeds came in fifth.

The Tiger boys’ team of Xavier Bussell, Tyler Greenwell, JeVon Leavell and DeEvan Williams posted a 42.69 in the 4x100M relay, good enough to take the top spot, with Greenwell, Leavell and Williams joining Keshaun Green to run a meet-best 1:32.03 in the 4x200M.  Bussell finished runner-up to UHA’s Isiah Pantiere in both the 200 and 400M, while Leavell ran third in the 200M with a 23.05.

On the girls’ side, McKnight paced the team with first-place finishes in two events, jumping a 16-02.50 in the long jump and a 33-07.50 in the triple jump.  McKnight was also a part of two second-place relay teams, joining Jakayla Epps, Lailah Moyd and Dalaysia Chambless in the 4x100M, and Chambless, Moyd and Dashiya Radford in the 4x400M.

Allison Wood was the Tigers’ top distance runner, finishing third in the 3200M run with a 12:15.76.
