Going into Christmas with a win in the last game you played is always a good way to start the holiday celebration. The Caldwell County Tigers rallied from a halftime deficit to defeat the Murray Tigers and pick up their second win in the BTN/WLBQ Christmas Classic at Butler County High School.

The Tigers struggled offensively coming out of the gate. Murray was able to hold the Tigers to only two field goals in the first quarter and take a 14-7 lead.

Behind a strong second quarter from Adarius Riley, Caldwell County got its offense going, and cut the Murray lead to 29-24 at the half. Riley had 10 points in the quarter for Caldwell County.

Jameer Riley and Derrin Boyd then got hot in the second half and got the Tigers to the lead. The duo combined for 14 points in the 3rd quarter, as Caldwell County got to the lead, and took a 44-42 lead into the final quarter.

Even with Murray connecting for four 3-pointers in the final quarter, Jameer Riley and Derrin Boyd continued to control the game as the Tigers pulled out to the final six point margin.

Boyd led the way for Caldwell County with 23 points. Jameer Riley had 15, while Adarius Riley added 12. Hunter Utley was the top scorer for Murray with 21 points.

Caldwell County improves to 5-5 with the win. The Tigers return to action when they host the West Ky Hoops Classic next Thursday and Friday.
