It is one of those great stories of putting others before self in high school sports that needs to be told more often. In the first series of the game against Caldwell County, Fort Campbell’s backup quarterback Abdel Howard was injured and knocked out of the game and likely the rest of the season. Julian Roberts was called upon to play the position in that game, without much prep, and to finish out the season at QB for Fort Campbell. Note, Roberts is a senior, who had either played running back or receiver for essentially all of his high school career. Roberts made the move to help his team, with an attitude that is an example of “Falcon Pride.”
