The Lyon County Lyons got off to a roaring start and then had to hold on tight through a furious second half Fort Campbell rally to advance to the 2nd Region All A boys soccer championship game. The Lyons scored four goals in the first 18 minutes of the contest, three of those by sophomore forward Bryson Penn, who would eventually score five in the first half of play.
Fort Campbell would finally get on the board at the 26:30 mark of the first half, but then Penn added two more goals in a four minute span to extend the lead to 6-1. Jhony Paniagua added a goal for Fort Campbell to trim the margin to 6-2 at the break.
In the second half, a combination of Lyon comfort and increased pressure from Fort Campbell, tightened things up a bit. James Manning helped lead the charge for the Falcons, who got as close as one goal with 38 seconds to go, but then just ran out of clock as Lyon County was able to hold on to advance to the Thursday night regional championship game against Caldwell County.
